Cape Breton FC Code of Conduct
PLAYERS - PARENTS - GUARDIANS
Welcome to the Cape Breton Football Club (CBFC). In an effort to keep both the players and parents/guardians aware of what they can expect and what is expected of them while associated with CBFC soccer, please read and sign if you are willing to participate under the following rules.
CBFC and the NSSL is the highest level of competitive youth soccer played in Nova Scotia and, as such, the goal is to produce championship teams. CBFC supports this goal, but not at any cost. Our program will focus on developing our players and maintaining fun while participating.
All players will have a reasonable amount of playing time. Some players will get more playing time than others depending on the circumstances. We ask the players and parents to understand that any decision taken by the coaches in this regard will ALWAYS be in an effort to best serve the team rather than the individual.
Players and parents will refrain from criticizing other players AT ALL TIMES. Players and parents will always show respect for officials and coaches even under difficult circumstances. Verbal abuse of officials, coaches or any player will not be tolerated.
Dirty play with the intent to injure, as opposed to aggressive play, will not be tolerated.
Individual conflicts or concerns should be brought to the private attention of the 1) team coach or manager as soon as possible. If the problem cannot be resolved at that level then it should be referred to 2) director of player development and 3) the CBFC executive.
Players will be expected to attend all practice and games unless prior arrangements are made with the coach or manager. Players will be expected to play those positions that most benefit the team as determined by the coaching staff.
CBFC has ZERO TOLERANCE for the use of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs before, during or after any team-related activities. Any player violating this rule may be suspended from all soccer activities for the remainder of the playing season.
CBFC players are expected to be role models in the sports community and in all areas of their deportment including attendance, respect, behavior and fundraising.
Parents are an important part of the team environment, and they are encouraged to actively support the team and all team activities.
