The 2026 Summer Soccer Season is Underway!
The 2026 Summer Season has officially kicked off, and what a start it has been! Teams across all divisions are already showing great energy, sportsmanship, and some impressive performances. Here's a look at the opening weeks of action:
Senior Women
Seniors United and Wadden Waddlers have both started the season in top form, earning two wins each. Up front, Ella Barry has come flying out of the gates and currently leads the Golden Boot race with an incredible six goals.
Senior Men
Ashley FC, New Waterford, and Bay Miners have all started with victories and will be looking to build momentum as the season progresses.
U18 Girls
The season opened with a thrilling 3-2 nail-biter, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting year. The New Waterford Wolves and Northside Storm look set to battle it out all season long!
U18 Boys
The Riverview Raptors opened their season with a win over the New Waterford Wolves, but the Whitney Pier Warriors quickly made their presence known, battling the Raptors to a draw in the second matchup of the season.
U15 Girls
The Whitney Pier Wild have established themselves as the early front-runners with two wins to start the season. Can VCFC Highlanders, New Waterford Wolves, or Riverview Rattlesnakes catch them as the summer unfolds?
U15 Boys
The Strait United Steelers are setting the pace with two wins already. With seven teams competing in this division, fans can expect a highly competitive season from start to finish.
U13 Division
One of our strongest age groups this year, featuring seven girls' teams and eleven boys' teams. It's still too early to predict the front-runners, but the talent on display has been impressive. We know we’ll be seeing some intense competition at the upcoming Cape Breton Cup Tournament for this division.
U11 Division
Goals, goals, and more goals! This division has been lighting up the scoreboard. Whitney Pier Phoenix and Northside Blizzards each netted nine goals, Whitney Pier Pelicans and Riverview Royals scored an impressive eleven goals in their opening matches. Not to be outdone, the Northside Tornadoes stormed their way to a remarkable fifteen-goal performance. Goalkeepers, you've been warned - these teams can score!
U9 Division
We've already seen excellent passing, teamwork, and skill development from our youngest players. A special shoutout goes to all the coaches who are doing an outstanding job teaching the fundamentals of the game while ensuring fair playing time and a positive experience for every player.
We're only getting started, and there are plenty more exciting matches ahead as teams continue to find their rhythm. Good luck to all players, coaches, officials, and volunteers as we look forward to another fantastic summer of soccer across Cape Breton!
