SOCCER CAPE BRETON TO HOST SNS SPRING CUP!
SOCCER CAPE BRETON is thrilled to announce that we have won the right to host the Soccer Nova Scotia U13AA Spring Cup at Ness Timmons Field on April 25,26.
The honour is the latest boost for Soccer Cape Breton and comes hot on the heels of the news that we will host the Canada Soccer U15 Girls and Boys National Championships in October 2027.
CAPERS Academy U13AA Tier Girls and Boys will represent the island in the tournament and over two days of action on the CBU Campus there will be recorded scores, elimination games and division winners.
The U13AA division will be used for player identification for the prestigious SNS Provincial Program and the Academy has a host of players we feel can challenge to be part of those squads.
Regional Director of Soccer Development Iain King said: "A huge part of our stated mission here is to seek to give young players on the island as many opportunities as their counterparts in the HRM.
"Bringing events like this to Cape Breton is a huge part of this and we look forward to welcoming all the players, coaches and parents to the facility.
"I'd like to thank both SNS Head of Grassroots Zach Bauld and Manager of Performance Pathways Adam Miller for their help and vision and also our Head of Referees Wendell MacGibbon who works tirelessly to ensure we have our crew of officials without whom there can be no games.
"Many of the players from the island playing in this tournament will also have a shot at being part of Nationals in our Project '27 squads and they are training hard to help justify the chances they are being given."
