CAPERS ALUMNI SPARKLE IN ACAA SEASON

PRIZE GUY...former CAPERS keeper Liam Collings is an ACAA First Team All star. 

CAPE BRETON FC alumni Liam Collings, Jai Cunsolo-Willox and Noah Hutchison-Mills were recognised in the Atlantic College Athletic Association (ACAA) awards as they did the island proud in Varsity action this Fall.

University of King's College Blue Devils goalkeeper Liam went through the season of his life as his side played 12 regular season Conference matches and did not concede a single goal!

Liam was aided by his long-time CBFC team Jai in defence and their feats were recognised at the end of the campaign with Liam named to the First Team All Star 11 and Jai part of the Second Team rankings.

Joining Jai in that elevated company was MSVU Mystics midfielder Noah who had a superb opening campaign for coach Kieran Collins' side and helped them to the Conference semi-final where they lost to UKC. 

Liam and Jai went on to lift the Conference crown with the Blue Devils and travelled to Nationals in Saint-Lambert, Quebec, where they made the last four but lost out to eventual winners Humber Hawks of Ontario.

Regional Director of Soccer Development Iain King said: "When they come home from Halifax in the summer both Liam and Jai still give back to the Academy with coaching time and mentorship and we are thrilled to see Noah have such an outstanding season with the Mystics after going there alongside his twin brother Cole.

"One of our driving motivations at the new CAPERS Academy is to keep producing Varsity level players who can continue their soccer journeys in the AUS or the ACAA.

"Already this Fall we have seen U17AAA Girls striker Ava MacDonald commit to CBU CAPERS and we have more announcements on the way.

"All three of these players owe a big debt of gratitude to their coach Kuvy Moodley, our former Assistant Technical Director, who played a huge role in shaping them as players when he guided our U18AA and U17AAA Boys teams."
