SOCCER CAPE BRETON, ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

 

Position: Assistant Technical Director

Reports to: Technical Director

Preferred Start Date: September 1, 2025

 

Soccer Cape Breton is seeking a full-time Assistant Technical Director to join its growing team. The Assistant TD will play a key role in the organisation’s programming and on-field operations. The work will take place primarily on the field, supporting Soccer Cape Breton’s teams and coaches.

This role requires assistance in the development, execution and supervision of player and coach development initiatives which are a priority towards achieving our strategic plans.

This is a full-time position (with the requirement of approximately 35 hours per week), although the number of hours per week will vary throughout the year based on programming requirements.

Evening and weekend work will be required, as well as administrative responsibilities and program planning. This position would favour a newly graduated student.

 

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

 

- Overseeing and execution of curriculum implementation

- Administer coach development program with the objective of developing various levels of coaching expertise to support all programs

- Manage and support female coach mentorship/development strategy

- Identify, develop and recruit qualified community coaches to support our teams

- Assist in oversight of coach training and mentorship

 - Evaluate ongoing player development needs and issues

- Assist in program design to best support Soccer Cape Breton’s player development model which aligns with Soccer NS and Soccer Canada recommendations

- Additional duties may be assigned to support Soccer Cape Breton’s strategic plans

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

 - 1-3 years of experience working with a soccer club in a leadership role - Preference will be given to candidates with experience in player development and coach education

- Preference will be given to candidates that have a Canada Soccer C Licence, Children’s & Youth License or those who are willing to work towards reaching these levels.

- Strong communication skills with an ability to convey technical direction to community coaches and parents

- Valid drivers’ license required

- Successful candidate must complete a criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
