CAPERS Academy U18AA Girls have added a second Open Session event to their selection process which will be held in the CBU Dome this Saturday March 29 between 12noon and 1.30pm.
Last weekend - with hockey play-offs and other sporting commitments still making it a busy sporting time on the island - we had 15 girls playing in the first Open Session.
Now the U18AA coaching team of Ayanna MacNeil, Elle MacDougall and Erica Boone would love to see more players born in 2009, 2008 and 2007 come out as they look to finalise their squad for the summer NSSL Tier Two season.
The session on Saturday is free and the squad will be confirmed next week with the team beginning training outdoors at Ness Timmons Field on Monday April 21 ahead of the league beginning in earnest on the weekend of May 3.
CAPERS Academy would love to see returning players and new alike give current CBU Varsity player Elle and her former U18AA Girls team-mates the chance to mould a strong side for Summer 2025.
Last season Ayanna made her debut as a Head Coach with the U18AA Girls with Elle assisting Ewen Kenny in the popular U15AA girls squad. They have both come through the prestigious TELUS sheCANCoach initiative and will now form a new-look coaching team with their former CAPERS Academy team-mate Erica.
