CAPERS VARSITY HOPEFULS HEAD TO SOUTH SHORE SHOWCASE
* READY TO GO...U17AAA Girls midfielder Petra LeBlanc from Baddeck is one of the dedicated CAPERS Academy players in action this weekend.
CAPE BRETON FC's next batch of Varsity soccer hopefuls have a big weekend looming as squads from both the Girls and Boys Academy sides take part in the prestigious South Shore Showcase in Bridgewater.
The Girls squad includes three current Canada Games players in goalkeeper Sadie Delorey, midfielder Alyse Tierney and striker Ava MacDonald with a host of other talents from a gifted squad who are shaping up well for their Tier One summer season in the NSSL.
In the Boys bracket there will be a mix of excellent Grade 12 players such as keeper Ciaran MacDonald, talented twins Noah and Cole Hutchison-Mills and midfielder Sam Tingley.
They will be joined by 2026 and 2027 graduates as U17AAA Boys Head Coach Alasdair Dunbar also uses the tournament to aid his team's preparations for their own Tier One season that begins in April.
