FIRST EVER CONCACAF C LICENCE HOSTED IN CAPE BRETON
SOCCER CAPE BRETON is thrilled to announce that a delivery of the new CONCACAF C Diploma will be hosted on our island to give coaches in our region the chance to make a huge step forward in their own backyard.
Previously, island coaches would face the trek to Halifax or even further afield for the three in-person weekends required to take this significant step forward on the coaching pathway.
Now those three weekends will be hosted at the CBU Dome on May 10,11, July 12,13 and December 13,14 in 2025.
Soccer Nova Scotia's Director of Soccer Development Matt Holton will be the Lead Facilitator on the course and he said: "I'm incredibly excited that Soccer NS is hosting the new CONCACAF C Diploma in the Cape Breton region, specifically for coaches on the island.
"To provide background, the 'Canadian' C License is no longer being offered and has been replaced by the CONCCAF C Diploma, meaning that this certification will be recognised anywhere amongst the CONCACAF Federation and also receive equivalency in the rest of the soccer world."
The course is allowed to have a maximum cohort of 24 coaches and already he minimum of 12 places have been snapped up with requests out to all of Soccer Cape Breton's member clubs to ask for dedicated coaches to sign up.
Soccer Cape Breton's Regional Director of Development Iain King said: "This is a game-changer for soccer on the island, my dream is to have a coach from each SCB club on this course alongside those from the Cape Breton FC Academy and some of our Future Coaches.
"This would give us the foundations of a new generation of soccer technical leads across Cape Breton who could help develop our young players and coaches for years to come. I'd urge any coach interested to snap up one of the few remaining slots if they are interested in developing in their roles."
