CAPE BRETON FC talents Sadie Delorey, Alyse Tierney and Ava MacDonald have taken one step nearer to playing in the Canada Games with selection for a dream trip to Orlando in early 2025.
Goalkeeper Sadie, midfielder Alyse and striker Ava have been named in a 20-player Team Nova Scotia squad picked to travel to the States for the 2025 Disney Girls Soccer Showcase.
The girls are part of the U17AAA Cape Breton FC squad for Season 2025 and everyone within the CAPERS Academy is very proud of their achievements.
CBFC U17AAA Girls Head Coach Mitch Hanna said: “We are extremely proud of these three girls for earning the opportunity to represent Nova Scotia in Orlando. It is a testament not only to their ability but also to their relentless work ethic and dedication.
"All three athletes have put in the extra work, including training outside of scheduled practice times, to help propel their games to the next level. It is great to see that they have been recognised and rewarded with this outstanding opportunity.”
The girls begin their tournament on Friday January 17 against top American side Valley FC from Connecticut in Game One at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.
On Saturday January 18 they tackle the Borussia Dortmund Academy side from West Virginia before closing out the round robin section on Sunday January 19 against Reno APEX to see if they can progress to the knockout stages.
